Constructed by Roskyle, this modern country house draws on the spatial order and hierarchy of grand traditional estates, reinterpreted through a contemporary construction approach. The build required careful coordination to achieve classical proportions and symmetry while accommodating the functional demands of modern family living. Precision in setting out and sequencing was key to delivering the home’s sense of scale, balance, and understated elegance.

Externally, the house is defined by a refined and durable material palette. Grey Vandersanden brick, natural stone, and Renson cladding were selected for both their performance and aesthetic qualities. These materials were meticulously detailed and installed to ensure longevity, weather resistance, and a seamless relationship with the surrounding woodland context. The earthy tones of the brick and stone ground the building within its landscape, while the crisp contemporary cladding introduces a modern counterpoint.

Large-format glazing was carefully integrated to maximise natural light and frame views through the woodland, requiring precise structural coordination and airtightness detailing. Elegant colonnades were constructed to create sheltered thresholds between inside and out, supporting a fluid connection between architecture and landscape while providing year-round usability.

Working alongside landscape designers Park Hood, Roskyle coordinated the integration of hard and soft landscaping elements, ensuring a cohesive transition from the built form into the gardens. Layered planting, pathways, and external levels were delivered to complement the architecture and soften the overall composition.

At the lower end of the site, a bespoke outdoor swimming pool and pool house were constructed as part of the wider works, forming a discreet and private leisure space that sits naturally within the landscape.

This project reflects Roskyle’s commitment to craftsmanship, technical precision, and high-quality delivery—realising a modern country home where classical influence and contemporary construction are brought together with care and expertise.
